COMSTECH SCAC Publishes 1st Monograph on Importance of Science Communication in Agriculture –COMSTECH Science Communication Advisory Committee (SCAC) announces the publication of 1st monograph of its monograph series. The monograph on the importance of science communication in agriculture – enhancing agricultural impact in OIC countries has been written by Mr. Sayyed Paras Ali & Prof. Dr. Syed Javaid Khurshid.
The monograph underscores the fundamental importance of science communication in agriculture. It emphasizes the critical need for clear science communication in a common language to enhance science literacy in the masses and bridge the gap between scientific advancements and the common people. It is a comprehensive roadmap, guiding readers through the dynamic intersection of science and communication, providing a practical guide to harnessing effective communication for the advancement of agriculture.

COMSTECH and MoFA Launch Journal of Science Communication and Diplomacy
COMSTECH Science Communication Advisory Committee published 1st Issue of the biannual Journal of Science Communication and Diplomacy. It is published jointly by the OIC Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan (MoFA).
Science communication and science diplomacy can serve as a bridge between Islamic nations fostering collaborations in areas of mutual interest, enhancing diplomatic relations, and promoting peace and stability.
The first issue of the journal comprises eight papers and one op-ed article on different aspects and angles of science communication.

SZABIST Conference on Media Revolution
COMSTECH partnered with the Higher Education Commission and SZABIST University to organize the 2nd International Conference on Media Revolution – Technological Influence on Journalism, arts, and visual storytelling, organized by SZABIST from May 17 – 18, 2024, SZABIST, Islamabad.
The themes of the conference were science communication, the role of media in achieving SDGs, technological advancement and media, misinformation, disinformation and fake news, artificial intelligence, and visual storytelling.
Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary said that COMSTECH’s collaboration with SZABIST University has been both productive and impactful. He said that the media must play a role to ensure the advancements in S&T are communicated clearly to the masses.
Six members of the SCAC, COMSTECH delivered lectures. Dr. Syed Javaid Khurshid, Consultant, Science Communication, COMSTECH presented a paper on “Introduction to Science Communication and Diplomacy – bridging the gap between science and society” which was awarded 1st prize of the conference.
